First Chinese Ship Arrived at Gwadar Port

Gwadar Port is one of the largest sea ports in the world, strategically located between three important regions: the Middle East, heavily populated South Asia and the economically emerging and resource-laden region of Central Asia. However, paving ways to new beginnings and prosperity, first Chinese ship arrived at Gwadar Port on Sunday.

Gwadar Port is situated on the Arabian Sea, Balochistan province of Pakistan.

The cargo ship ‘Zhen Xing Sung’ arrived on Monday morning fully loaded with sea food. An inauguration ceremony took place as the ship arrived at the port. the ceremony was attended by Chinese delegation and the Federal Minister of Ports and Shipping, Kamran Michael. This $46 Billion project ‘China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’ between Beijing and Islamabad will connect Pakistan to the whole world. The economic corridor is about 3000 kilometers consisting of highways, railways and pipelines.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, has unveiled 5 more developmental and economic projects all revolving around Gwadar Port, including Free Trade Zone, Business Complex of Gwadar Port Authority, Pak-China Government Authority School, construction of dams and Pak-China University. With  such developmental projects underway, Gwadar Port will turn into a business center of the world, bringing much need economic prosperity in the country’s economy.
